March 24 101 Things About Me..1. I am married to an angel for almost 22 years now.
2. We met in a hospital Emergency Room.
3. He was the doctor. I was the patient.
4. We have two daughters.
5. They are supposedly grown.
6. My eldest was adopted by my husband.
7. She is all mine.
8. I was married once before just long enough to be blest with her.
9. Turns out he was a sociopath.
10. Hence, divorce.
11. My daughters are COMPLETE opposites.
12. My eldest is my Picasso. My youngest is my Renoir. (my eldest daughters words, not mine)
13. I am the eldest of seven children. Six girls and one boy.
14. Three of my sisters married men named Tom. They fight over who is Tom #1.
15. Head count today? 29 nieces and nephews.
16. Yes, we are Catholic.
17. Even better....we are Irish Catholic.
18. That means we throw great parties and wakes.
19. I am only 5'4".
20. Most people don't guess that I am 48 years old.
21. But I think they are being polite.
22. My hair used to be auburn red.
23. It is highlighted now to hide all the gray.
24. I was red-headed and freckled when it wasn't cool.
25. My youngest daughter usually dresses me so I'm more 'with it'.
26. I do draw the line at the extreme low rise jeans.
27. That's just not right. Not on a 48 year old woman.
28. Diet Coke and Starbucks keeps me wanting to continue to live.
29. I can be very sarcastic.
30. That gets me into trouble.... a lot.
31. I believe beauty lies within..
32. But I wouldn't object to a boob job and tummy tuck.
33. Jaden is my grandson who is 3 years old and I adore him.
34. He thinks I'm cool.
35. I actually have four grandchildren.
36. Not too many people know that little fact.
37. Two were placed for adoption, but I know where they are.
38. I will meet them when they are older, understand, and are ready.
39. I do get pictures and updates on their lives which is awesome and comforting.
40. My youngest grandson is one month old and adorable.
41. They are all my eldest daughters children (anyone know where I can get a chastity belt cheap?)
42. I LOVE to dance.
43. My husband is a muscian too.
44. He doesn't mind me dancing all around him and his equipment or on the piano when he is playing.
45. He does mind when I reach for the microphone.
46. I took tap dancing with my girlfriend in my early 20's.
47. We thought we would be fun at parties.
48. We got kicked out because we were so untalented.
49. I love to travel.
50. But I haven't made it across the pond yet.
51. I already have plans for the money I am going to win in the lottery.
52. I love jewelry.
53. Don't seem to get around to wearing it much though.
54. I have been robbed at gun point.
55. He said he was going to 'pop' me.
56. That's when it's good to be Catholic. Those memorized prayers start rolling off your tongue.
57. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
58. When I was younger I pictured myself as a teacher or writer.
59. My dad died last summer. He was the rock of our clan.
60. We are all still a bit lost without him here.
61. I could watch movies 24/7.
62. Especially musicals. Singing in the Rain and West Side Story at the top of the list.
63. My husband doesn't like it when my daughters and I start singing show tunes.
64. I love to shop.
65. I love pedicures.
66. I love getting my hair washed and 'purdied' up.
67. I consider these things therapy.
68. When I need to escape I hide in a bookstore.
69. Or I go to my baby sister's and play with her one year old triplets.
70. Secretly I would love to go back in time and relive my life when my girls were little.
71. It was all so easy then in retrospect.
72. I have very few close friends.
73. Many acquaintences
74. When overwhelmed with 'situations', I tend to 'circle the wagons' at home and not bother others.
75. I wear glasses.
76. Happened when I turned 40.
77. I hate wearing glasses.
78. I have two cats.
79. But I'm allergic to cats.... to bad for me!
80. I dream of skiing down a fresh powdered mountain.
81. One problem, I can't make it down the bunny hill :(
82. I am more adventurous now that my girls are grown.
83. My hubby and I are dating now.
84. We never really have since I had a 3 year old when we met and were engaged a month after we met.
85. Dating is mighty fine.
86. I'm not crazy about housework.
87. My home is too big to keep up with.
88. I need to hire someone to clean bathrooms (YUCK!).
89. I think I'm spoiled after writing that.
90. I have an evil-eye that scares my daughters boyfriends.
91. That is probably a good thing.
92. I am a photograph junkie.
93. I love Italian food.
94. I am more of a homebody.
95. Being raised with so many siblings, I like my space and short times alone.
96. Booze gives me a headache in my old(er) age.
97. I drink anyway.
98. Fall is my favorite season!
99. Sweatshirts come out of hiding and leaves change color.
100. I yearn for thunderstorms.
101. I'm on the down-hill side of life now.... the view is great! |
